DR AMY TOUZELL
Dr Amy Touzell is a fully qualified, Australian trained orthopaedic surgeon who has recently moved to the peninsula. She treats all conditions of the lower limb and has a special interest in arthroscopic hindfoot surgery.
MISS KATE JENNISON
Kate is a medical secretary with over ten years' experience working in private practice all along the Mornington Peninsula. She has been instrumental in setting up South East Orthopaedics and is dedicated to providing quality orthopaedic care to the local population. Kate mans the phone Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and can help you with any billing inquiries as well as general queries about your appointment or surgery.
MISS SHELLIE FELLOWS
Shellie is a medical secretary with over twenty years of orthopaedic experience. She is in charge on Mondays and Thursdays and can draw on her wealth of experience to answer any queries you may have about your appointment or surgery. Shellie was also responsible for the skeleton wallpaper in the Frankston consulting suites!
MISS MELISSA TOWNS
Melissa is a medical receptionist who is here to help when Kate & Shellie need a hand. Her background is reception in dental/podiatry and mum of 7 year old twins. Melissa is happy to help you with all your inquiries and appointment scheduling.
MISS MEGAN FOLEY
Clinical nurse consultant
Megan is an orthopaedic nurse, qualified as a clinical nurse specialist, who is responsible for wound care in the post-operative period. She is also a very talented scrub nurse and you might see her during your surgery as well. She is a keen CrossFit competitor and can front squat 80kg!
MR ADAM TOUZELL
IT specialist and accounts
Adam moonlights as a book-keeper for South East Orthopaedic Surgery and uses his IT experience to help troubleshoot problems as they arise. He has extensive orthopaedic experience himself having broken his neck, clavicle, finger and has had multiple stress fractures (a source of much angst for Dr Touzell).
Dr Alicia James, PhD
Alicia provides our in-house podiatry service, including post operative wound care and will coordinate with local podiatrists to provide a collaborate approach to patients with complex foot and ankle pathology. Alicia has a broad clinical background and is currently the Head of Podiatry at Peninsula Health Service. Not only does she have her undergraduate Podiatry qualification but also a Masters of Health Science (Podiatry) and a PhD. Alicia is registered as an endorsed prescriber for scheduled medicines and is one of six podiatrists in Australia to have received her Paediatric Credential by the Australian Podiatry Association.
Mr Tom McKenzie
Tom grew up on the Mornington Peninsula and has spent the past 12 years working as a podiatrist in Mornington and Frankston. He has a wealth of experience, particular with sporting injuries of the foot and ankle. He takes a particular interest in lower limb injury management along with point of care ultrasound assessment of the foot/ankle. He provides a specialist service and will coordinate care with local podiatrists to provide best patient outcomes. He has also completed further training to become endorsed to prescribe scheduled medicines. After a torn achilles brought an end to his football playing days, he attempts to stay fit by swimming/running and you’ll find him riding the mountain bike trails at Red Hill most weekends.
Mr Josh Ferguson
APA accredited sports physiotherapist
Josh has been practising Physiotherapy since 2006 and has worked on the Mornington Peninsula for the last 6 years. In 2014 he completed his post grad Masters in Sports Physiotherapy. He also consults as an ‘in-house’ physio at the Victorian Institute of Sport; where he works with the State’s elite athletes and up and coming Olympians.
Josh has a wealth of knowledge across a multitude of sports and has been on the medical services staff at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games (Canada), the Pan American Games (Canada) and the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games (Australia). He has also been selected to attend the upcoming Olympic Games in Tokyo. He has a special interest in tendinopathies and fractures of the lower limb and has worked with Dr Touzell at the fracture clinic since it started in 2018.
He is a father of two active children and spends what free time he has as an enthusiastic - albeit mediocre - hockey player.
