The decision to undergo surgery is a personal one, and in most cases (with the exception of severe limb threatening trauma) you have as much time as you need to digest information discussed at your consultation. You may want to make another appointment to discuss any concerns you may have with your surgeon or administration staff. In most cases, this type of follow-up appointment is bulk-billed.

You may also want to see another orthopaedic surgeon for a second opinion. We encourage this and ask that you contact us prior to seeing another surgeon so we can share your health information including correspondence and test results with them if you prefer.

The following documents outline the risk of specific risks associated with common procedures performed by Dr Touzell. These will be discussed with you in detail during your appointment.

Hallux valgus (bunions)

Hallux rigidus (big toe arthritis)

Achilles tendon ruptures
